Sally

Lead Veterinarian Assistant

Sally never expected a job to become such an important part of her life. When Dr. John Emerson recruited her in May 2002, she decided to explore a career in veterinary medicine. What surprised her most was how quickly she connected with the family atmosphere of the clinic. The relationships she built with the staff and clients made the work feel meaningful, and before long, she knew she had found something special.

From the beginning, Sally embraced every opportunity to expand her knowledge and skills through hands-on experience. Working alongside Dr. Emerson, Dr. Hoffman and the rest of the team, she developed a strong foundation in veterinary medicine and continued building her abilities over the years. Now, with more than two decades of experience as part of the veterinary team, Sally serves as Lead Veterinarian Assistant and brings extensive practical knowledge to her role. She continues to value opportunities to learn and especially enjoys watching patients grow from their first visits into familiar faces with personalities she knows well.

Sally particularly enjoys working as a Surgical Technician. Surgery is the part of her role where she feels especially confident in her skills and takes pride in knowing she can make a valuable contribution to the team. She also loves the relationships that come with the job, building bonds not only with the animals but with the people who care for them.

Originally from Idaho, Sally now enjoys life with her three children, two boys and a girl. Being a mom is one of the things she loves most. Her family also includes Tucker, a four-year-old Basenji mix; Trinket, a five-year-old small mixed breed; and two six-year-old cats, Oliver and Brat.

Away from the clinic, Sally enjoys art and decorating her home. For her, veterinary medicine has become much more than a job. It is a place where she has grown, discovered her strengths and formed lasting connections with animals, families and the team she works alongside every day.

Molly

Receptionist

For Molly, working with animals has always been a natural part of life. Her background in dog daycare and boarding introduced her to the many personalities that make every dog unique, but veterinary medicine gave her an opportunity to build even stronger connections with pets and the people who love them. Welcoming families through the front doors each weekend and watching their pets throughout different stages of life has become one of the most rewarding parts of her role.

Molly joined Lincoln City Animal Clinic as our Receptionist in 2023 after bringing one of her own pets in for an appointment. Looking for a part-time weekend position to complement her full-time career, she asked if the clinic was hiring. A simple conversation led to a new opportunity, allowing her to continue doing work that combines her love of animals with her experience in client service.

One patient who will always hold a special place in Molly’s heart was a deaf Boxer named Kreature. He regularly visited the clinic for nail trims, and Molly eagerly volunteered whenever she had the chance to help. She would happily talk and sing to him throughout his appointment while his owner smiled and reminded her that Kreature could not hear a word she was saying. Molly likes to believe he understood her anyway. Although Kreature has since passed, the joy he brought to every visit and the connection they shared remain some of her favourite memories.

Today, Molly enjoys meeting every breed and mixed breed that comes through the doors. She often finds herself guessing what combination of breeds might make up a mixed-breed dog, only to be pleasantly surprised by the answer. Those moments, along with getting to know the families behind each pet, make every shift enjoyable.

Outside the clinic, Molly shares her home with five dogs: Doris, Alice, Carol, Shirley, and Greg. Each has a unique personality that keeps life entertaining, and together they remind her every day why she enjoys helping pets and their families feel welcome and cared for.

Veterinary Assistant

Jenn’s introduction to veterinary medicine began with weekends spent doing something simple: spending time with the animals recovering at Lincoln City Animal Clinic. Her wife already worked at the clinic, so stopping by and enjoying time with the pet patients felt natural. What started as a familiar weekend activity soon opened the door to an unexpected new direction.

When Lincoln City Animal Clinic offered Jenn a position, the opportunity felt like the right time to make a change. She officially joined the team in October 2024 as a Veterinary Assistant, turning her love of helping animals into meaningful work. One of the most rewarding parts of her job is helping rescue animals heal and thrive. She values the opportunity to support animals that need extra care and attention, and that purpose gives her work special meaning.

Having a connection to the clinic through her wife also helped Jenn discover a place that felt like a good fit. The animals that first made her weekend visits enjoyable eventually became part of her everyday work. What began as time spent around the clinic became an opportunity to step in, and make a meaningful career change.

Jenn brings a genuine desire to help animals to the team. She is passionate about contributing to their care and each day brings another opportunity to support patients who need her.

For Jenn, changing directions meant discovering a role where her love of helping animals could become part of daily life.
