Dr. Meghan Brooks, DVM
Owner and Veterinarian
Returning to Oregon was an important milestone for Dr. Meghan. After earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University in 2010, she spent six years practicing in Illinois before joining Lincoln City Animal Clinic in 2016. Coming back to the state where she grew up allowed her to combine the education and experience she gained with the values that shaped her in a small farming community. Today, as Owner and Veterinarian, Dr. Meghan is proud to care for pets and the families who trust her through every stage of life.
Growing up on a small family farm outside Dallas, Oregon, Dr. Meghan was surrounded by cattle, a pony, dogs, and life alongside four brothers. One of the strongest influences during those years was the family’s veterinarian, Dr. Thomas Keck. He always welcomed questions, taking the time to explain his thought process and the care he provided. Those conversations showed Dr. Meghan that great veterinary medicine is not only about treating animals. It is also about educating clients, building trust, and making every interaction meaningful.
Dr. Meghan’s training in veterinary medicine developed steadily through years of hands-on experience before veterinary school. At 14, she began working as a kennel assistant and gradually advanced into receptionist and Veterinary Technician roles. Each position gave her a deeper understanding of patient care, hospital operations, and the teamwork required to support animals and their owners. By the time she entered veterinary school, she had already spent years learning from experienced professionals while developing practical clinical skills that continue to benefit her patients today.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Meghan dedicated much of her time to Four-H, beginning with chickens and rabbits before expanding into showing dairy cattle. After graduating from high school, she started a Four-H club and served as its leader until veterinary school. Those experiences strengthened her leadership skills, reinforced the importance of mentoring young people, and deepened her understanding of animal husbandry.
In practice, Dr. Meghan especially values building lifelong relationships with her patients. Caring for pets from their first puppy or kitten visit through their senior years allows her to understand each animal as an individual. She also enjoys working through challenging medical cases, identifying the cause of illness, and creating treatment plans that help pets return to their happy, healthy selves as quickly as possible.
Her own pets reflect the same thoughtful approach she brings to every patient. Harry, a Havanese mix, wears pajamas and loves visiting the reception team in search of extra cookies. Baby keeps life energetic with a spirited personality, while Magpie makes puppy training an ongoing adventure. Little Bit has required daily thyroid medication since kittenhood, and Dr. Meghan transformed that routine into a positive experience by teaching tricks that make treatment feel like play. It is another example of the patience, creativity, and dedication she brings to helping animals thrive.
